Meet Mike, Our New VP of EH&S!

January 29, 2019

We’re pleased to welcome Mike Braud to our team as Vice President of EH&S at GROUP Contractors. In this position with our Environmental Health & Safety department, Mike will be responsible for creating, implementing and advising the best in safety culture for our company in compliance with health and safety codes. With over 30 years of proven industry experience under his belt, we are excited to see him excel in his new role.

We sat down with Mike for a Q&A session to get to know him a little better. Check out his answers.

What attracted you to GROUP?
Being in the industry for the past 30 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside several companies and have experienced each of their cultures in different ways. The culture at GROUP has always struck me as that of a family. With the growing number of companies and others expanding, it was important to me that I find an organization that keeps their core values grounded. With that in mind, I knew that with the leadership in place at GROUP, I would be able to sustain these values that are so important to me while supporting all aspects of the organization and also continuing to further myself professionally.

What most excites you about your role with GROUP?
I’m a strong believer that the best way to measure your success is to experience the success of those you’ve invested in and supported. Leading into my new role, I’m excited to be involved with supporting and having the chance to invest positively in those associated with our departments.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
“If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing well.” As an apprentice, that advice was bestowed upon me by someone who invested their time and knowledge into me. From that advice, I’ve learned that you should never measure the success of an endeavor by time invested, but rather by the quality of its completion.

When not working, how do you like to spend your time?
I’m surrounded by a beautiful family: my wife, two daughters and sons-in-law, two stepsons, a nephew we are raising and a grandson who turns 3 next month. We stay busy with life in general, but when we get the chance, we like to go down to our place in Leeville for some saltwater fishing and take vacations with the family.
