GROUP Earns TWO National Excellence in Construction Eagle Awards

GROUP Contractors is proud to be recognized at the ABC National Convention with two National Excellence in Construction Eagle Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in construction and execution for the following projects. These awards reflect the quality, planning, and field performance demonstrated across complex project environments.
Shell Norco GO-1 Substation
GROUP completed the deep foundations and civil scope for a new electrical substation at Shell Norco, a more than 100-year-old facility, delivering critical infrastructure within a highly constrained project environment.
The project required careful coordination and adaptability due to buried obstacles, a limited 6,500-square-foot footprint, and several mid-construction redesigns. Despite these challenges, the team successfully placed 122 foundation piles across varying diameters and depths, maintaining precision and efficiency throughout execution.
This award recognizes the team’s ability to manage evolving conditions while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule on a technically demanding site.
S&B/Energy Transfer Propane BOG
The Energy Transfer Bog Project required planning and disciplined execution within a narrow, active work zone. GROUP installed 481 precast piles and 868 feet of sheet piles, utilizing a specialized concrete mix engineered to perform in ultra-low temperature conditions.
Through efficient coordination and field execution, the project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule, demonstrating GROUP’s commitment to performance, safety, and delivery even under challenging operational constraints.
