Say Hello to Project Manager Chelsey Rodrigue!

March 26, 2019

At GROUP, we value the growing impact women have on our industry every day, but we specifically took time to celebrate it during National Women in Construction Week. In honor of the occasion, we’d like to introduce our GROUP Deep Foundations Project Manager, Chelsey Rodrigue! A GROUP member since 2015, Chelsey started out as a Project Administrative Assistant and has since grown into her position as an established Project Manager. We are happy to have her on board, and we look forward to her continuing future here at GROUP Deep Foundations.

Hometown: Plaquemine, Louisiana

What attracted you to GROUP? GROUP Contractors is well-renowned throughout the Gulf Coast Region for exemplary safety, culture and construction. When presented the opportunity to be a part of a team with such high regard, it was honestly a no-brainer. Since coming on board 4 years ago, I’ve seen GROUP continue to be a part of cutting-edge changes within our industry and being a part of this team, as such, is very gratifying.

What excites you most about your role with GROUP? I’ve had the opportunity to wear different “hats” within our company and have been cross-trained through both of our divisions in our corporate office and on-field assigned projects. Coming to work every day is exciting, being there’s typically always a new task at hand and a new challenge to face. Projects are never the same across the board after all.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received? “Strive to be in a room with people who are smarter than you.” When our new COO came on board last year, he said this at one of our initial meetings, challenging our entire company. This resonated with me as a young, female professional in the construction industry. There’s always room for growth, and you’ll never have all the answers. But if you continue to surround yourself with the best and most knowledgeable colleagues and really listen, that knowledge will come back to you two-fold. I’m satisfied at the end of the day when I can say I learned something new and can share that knowledge with others.

When not working, how do you like to spend your time? I love spending time with my family and friends. I love to cook; I’m one of those live-to-eat foodies. I also enjoy being outdoors, soaking up some sun, fishing and reading.
